The Applegate Inn In Historic Augusta
The construction of the Applegate Inn dates back to 1864 when Rudolph Dammann first erected it. This two-story log cabin is believed to have been crafted utilizing a kiln situated on the premises. Rudolph Dammann played multiple roles in Augusta, including serving as a constable, post rider, and even fulfilling the duties of an undertaker. Several years down the line, precisely in 1881, Dammann established a liquor emporium on his land while concurrently engaging in the production and vending of cigars.
